General FAQ

1.     I’ve never seen a burlesque show, what should I expect?

Something fantastic! The great part of a burlesque show, particularly Burlesque Idol, is that every show is unique. However, the emphasis will always be on having a fun, entertaining evening that celebrates the female form in a huge variety of ways from using comedy to ballet, opera to fire breathing, and everything in between! Rest assured an evening at burlesque idol will be full of surprises but will always be an elegant, upscale, theatrical affair.

2.     Where is the show?

The 2018 tour will be visiting Perth, Hobart, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra and maybe some additional surprises. You can find details on all of the venues, including where to book tickets on their city page under the "Tickets & Tour Info" tab as soon as we've announced the final schedule.

Tickets FAQ

1.     What’s the best way to get tickets?

The most convenient way to get tickets is to purchase them online through our venues. You can find links to those on the individual city pages under the "Tickets & Tour Info" tab or on direct links on the home page. **2018 Tickets will be on sale shortly, please check back soon for more details!**

We advise purchasing tickets in advance as the shows will often sell out. However, in the event that it does not, the remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

2.     What if I arrive late?

While we’ll be sad you can’t see the whole show, late comers will still be seated (the usher may ask you to wait for the end of a routine or break point, generally every 5 minutes, so as not to disrupt the other guests). There are no refunds or partial refunds for tickets so please allow plenty of time to get to the theatre.

3.     What is your refund policy?

There are no refunds or partial refunds on tickets. You may transfer them to another name free of charge (please confirm this via email in advance at If you have had an extreme circumstance prevent you from coming please email us and we will see what we can work out, but please note that weather and traffic do not count.

4.     Are you an all ages show/venue?

The minimum age of attendance is 18.

5.     Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, absolutely. We welcome groups of all kinds, and also offer additional celebration “top-ups” to make your night with us even more memorable. For more information on or to make a group bookings please email us at  

6.     What’s included in your VIP ticket?

The VIP ticket is the best way to see the show, and is perfect for celebrating a special occasion. VIP tickets include the best seats in the house, and may consist of  a gift bag from our sponsors and complimentary cocktail or champagne. Performer FAQ

1.     How can I apply?

2.     What type of performers are you looking for?

All types! We welcome comedic, classic, avant-garde and everything in between! Performers of every genre have won in the past, so the important thing is just to do what you do best. Beginner’s are welcome but we will ask for a video of the routine you plan on performing (doesn’t have to be professional), and you must also have either a facebook or website. Most Idol winners have been performing for at least 3 years, although the competition is open to ALL performers--professional and beginners alike. If you have any other questions, please email For complete guidelines please see our terms and conditions page here.

3.     Will it cost me anything?

No! Unlike festivals and most competition shows, there is no fee for applying.
